Approach

For coaching, since each client and situation is unique, Harry’s approach relies on a customized process and coaching framework that includes key high-level milestones, and an integrated set of intellectual tools.

Essential components include those that a client must to bring to the table, those that Harry, as the development coach, am required to show up with, and components that enable the creative partnership including mutual respect, intellectual compatibility, and permission to engage.

Clients must own the coaching “frame of purpose” and want to change, grow, and evolve. They must “show up” as accountable for the change they say they want. They must also be willing to accept the possibility that their perceptions are not facts but, rather personal interpretations of the facts.

The development coach is responsible for bringing perspective, clarity, focus, and accountability to every engagement.

The key components of Harry Max’s approach include:

  • Client influencing skills (directive versus suggestive versus Socratic)
  • Understanding of quantitative and qualitative 360-degree review methods
